Read Across America day is celebrated every year on March 3rd. Theodore Geisel's birthday has turned into a wonderful day to build excitement for books and reading. This year the Golden Apple has a trunkfull of fun available for your school, in the form of a full-size, "professional" costume of the Cat in the Hat. We're offering it free to a local school to have use of for Read Across America Day! Between now and Feb 20th, enter at the store to win the costume for a week. If you win first prize, your school will have the costume for as many appearance as you like from Feb 28th to March 3rd, 2009. (You need to provide someone to go inside the costume of course!) Cat in the Hat Contest Rules
Enter each time you visit the store.
Winners agree to pick up and return the costume to our store.
Winning school must provide a human to fill the costume.
First Prize is the loan of an official Cat in the Hat costume from Feb 28 to Mar 3 2009.
(You will need to provide an enthusiastic adult between 5' and 5' 10"; along with a helper to guide the cat.)
Second Prize is the loan of the costume from Mar 4 to Mar 7, 2009. Same two adult volunteers will be needed.
Third prize is a one week loan of the costume at any other time of the year of your choice, subject to availability.
