Summer Reading Lists

Summer is the best time to build readers, and build on skills learned this past year. Our lists are made up of a variety of reading; picture books, chapter books, non-fiction and program readers. Some books are part of a series. Advanced readers enjoy non-fiction books as well, and many intructional books make for good summer reading, both for projects and knowledge. We built our Reading Lists for Kids LEAVING the grade listed.

Fourth Graders crave adventure - many books have kids on their own, facing challenges without their parents help. Mysterys, adventure tales and fantasy fill our 4th grade list. Our selection:

Boxes for Katje - Flemming

Hatchet - Paulson

Tales of a 4th Grade Nothing - Cleary

The Million Dollar Shot - Gutman

Shredderman - VanDrakken

Island of the Blue Dolphins - O'dell

Sammy Keyes Mysteries - VanDrakken

Harriet the Spy - Fitzhugh

Lily's Crossing - Giff

Time for Andrew:A Ghost Story - Grove
